Mill Granary Cottages

We had a really lovely time at Mill Granary. The location is an excellent base for lots of day trips and always felt like home when we returned. Great place for the Children and really well equipped throughout. We will definitely be back!

Family Easter break - The Mill Granary

It was a perfect cottage and location for myself and the family, including the dogs. The rooms were spacious and clean, the garden backs out onto open fields which was perfect for the dogs, and the rural setting and nice March weather made it one of the best and most relaxing holidays I have had. I will definitely return. Kate came to see us on our day of arrival to make sure everything was ok, and informed us of useful (dog friendly) places to visit.

I would quite happily live here - The Mill Byre

3 couples stayed in this Cottage for a long weekend. A beautiful Barn converted detached Cottage with lots of windows where we saw fantastic views from all sides including an amazing sun set. The Cottage felt very warm and cosy and quiet. Perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway surrounded by fields. The rooms, bathrooms, open dining, kitchen and lounge were tastefully decorated to high specifications. The kitchen had all the amenities, crockery and utensils we needed including the basics(sugar, salt and pepper). The bed felt so cosy with crisp sheets. Each room had TV and lots of drawers and wardrobe for storage space. A pub restaurant called Blackhorse was only a 15 min walk from the Cottage perfect for a meal and drink one evening when nobody wanted to cook and just wanted to relax. A few choices for places to see and explore nearby like Beamish and Durham. We had everything that we could possibly need in this cottage ( except food) that made our weekend stay relaxing and memorable. We would highly recommend this place to all our friends and if we had to come back into this region again, we would definitely come back here to stay. Thank you.

Once again Mill Granary Cottages lived up to all our expectations. Church cottage is tastefully furnished, well equipped, beautifully situated and extremely comfortable. This is one of our favourite parts of the country and the Dales looked even more beautiful in the bright,sunny weather we had. Another Lovely Holiday - Church Cottage

I booked to stay at Church Cottage as a surprise family trip away for my mum's 60th birthday weekend. The cottage was perfect, a nice village retreat in a good location with good walks and peace and quiet nearby, but larger places to visit only a short drive away. The cottage is kitted out with everything you might need for a short retreat, with the kitchen well stocked with useful equipment and some essentials, and a range of games/books/DVDs in the lounge to pass the time. Kate left some lovely scones and jam for when we arrived and popped round to say hello later that evening - offering some suggestions of things to do and places to eat (The Fox Hole looked great, but was really busy so we didn't get in, whilst the takeaway pizza from Gainford itself was excellent quality - we would recommend booking early for both as they have limited capacity and quickly booked up!). A lovely weekend was had in great surroundings and we hope to return again to Kate's Mill Granary Cottages properties. Highly recommended.

A Sixtieth Surprise - Church Cottage

Property was ideally situated for the town and walks. Well equipped, warm, comfortable nicely decorated property. The courtyard will be ideal for warmer weather, too cold the week we were there. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Thanks to Kate for popping in and checking everything was to our satisfaction.

March holiday - Cheeseborough Cottage

Our family of six adults and four children have been going to the Mill Granary now for ten years. We normally visit for one week once a year, but some years we have been for extra weekends when we have something special to celebrate. We all look forward to our visits so much ; the children say they are going to buy it outright when they have made their millions ! We particularly enjoy the location, it is so peaceful and beautiful and not overlooked. The Granary itself is like home from home with every amenity and the outside is excellent for games and children's activities ; the bonus being we can make as much noise as we like. We book up for the following year while we are there, that's how much it means to our family. We don't think we could find anywhere better.

Luxurious accommodation with all those little extras such as good quality toiletries, fluffy towels etc. and a homemade cake on arrival. Kitchen area wonderful for a large group to relax, cook and dine. Bedrooms all beautifully decorated and beds so comfortable. Bathrooms modern with lovely large baths and showers. Outside area peaceful and well equipped with patio furniture. Beautiful area, close to lovely villages and some great walks.
